Pete Conlon is a designer, animator and director working from his studios in Hollywood California and New York City. Conlon was raised in the SoHo Cast Iron Historic District of New York City by his father, William Conlon – a fine artist and his mother Jean Conlon – an agent for commercial photographers. Conlon studied Film, Video & Animation at the Rhode Island School of Design which led to an (at the time) unconventional career in video game development across the country in Silicon Valley. Working as a senior lead artist at the Japanese video game company Namco, Conlon absorbed vast amounts of technological know-how, complimenting his traditional film/animation background. In the early 2000s, Conlon moved to Southern California from San Francisco and found himself freelancing as an Animator and Art Director for newly opened studios like Brand New School and Stardust as well as more established studios like New Wave Entertainment and Blur. In 2005, with a partner, Conlon opened his studio WUT IT IS. In 2013 Conlon went solo consulting with other shops and running his own boutique studio where he continues to build and lead teams designing film and television main title sequences, music videos, commercials, content for television, and traditional animation projects. Conlon is a member of the Motion & Title Design and the Animation peer groups at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
